Calling all contractors

Local businesses are being invited to attend an event which could lead to a contract on the project to build the new Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre.

It is anticipated that contracts will be available for scaffolders, electricians and roofers, along with cleaners and caterers, amongst other opportunities.

Arun Business Partnership has organised the event which is being held from 5pm-7.30pm on 15 June 2017 at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton. A team from main contractors, Willmott Dixon, will be on hand to answer questions.

Miriam Nicholls, Business Development Manager at Arun District Council, said: “As a council, we are always keen to get local businesses involved in our large regeneration projects and we’ve had some real successes in the past.

“This event will give local tradespeople the chance to discuss sub-contract opportunities with a top team from Willmott Dixon.

“So, if you think your company has something to offer this exciting project, please come along to this event to find out more.”

It is anticipated the new leisure centre will open in 2019 and is set to offer an eight lane, 25-metre swimming pool, a learner pool with a moveable floor, an 80-85 station gym, a dance studio, a cycling studio, a four-court sports hall and a café.

With building set to begin later this year, the centre will be erected on the site of the current sports dome and overflow car park and the existing building will then be demolished and the space landscaped.
